Web Developer (Junior to Mid)

Location: Remote, team based in Manchester UK

Type: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: Competitive for the right candidate

We’re a digital marketing agency looking for a junior to mid-level web developer to join our team.

This is a great role for someone who enjoys variety and wants to grow into a strong technical generalist. Our work spans WordPress, Drupal, Magento, Laravel, Vue, and custom-built applications, across a mix of new development, ongoing maintenance, support and proactive improvement work.

A lot of our day-to-day work is WordPress-focused, but this role also offers the chance to develop experience across other platforms and technologies over time.

We don’t expect you to know everything on day one. We’re looking for someone with solid foundations, a practical mindset, and the curiosity to keep learning.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll work across a wide range of client websites and web applications, including:

  • supporting and maintaining existing websites
  • applying updates, patches, and bug fixes
  • handling content amends and new page builds
  • assisting with new feature development
  • working on WordPress sites and supporting work on Drupal, Magento, Laravel, Vue, and custom apps
  • carrying out technical QA and helping ensure sites remain stable, secure, and performant
  • supporting proactive SLA work such as SEO checks and ongoing site care
  • collaborating with the wider team to deliver client projects

What we’re looking for

We’re more interested in adaptability, attitude, and problem-solving ability than a perfect match to every technology we use.

You’ll likely have some of the following:

  • commercial experience in web development, ideally in an agency or small team environment
  • good working knowledge of WordPress
  • solid PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals
  • experience editing or building templates, themes, and components
  • confidence working on existing codebases and debugging issues
  • an understanding of website updates, maintenance, and safe deployment practices
  • strong attention to detail and a careful approach to QA
  • the ability to manage a mix of tasks, priorities, and platforms
  • good communication skills and a practical, team-focused attitude

Nice to have

These are helpful, but not essential:

  • Laravel experience
  • Vue or other modern JavaScript framework experience
  • experience with Drupal or Magento
  • familiarity with Git/version control
  • awareness of technical SEO, site performance, accessibility, or security best practice

What we’re offering

  • varied work across multiple platforms and projects
  • the chance to grow beyond a single CMS or framework
  • support and time to develop your skills
  • exposure to projects for global clients
  • a small team environment where your contribution will matter

How to apply

Please send us your CV, along with anything that helps us understand how you work — for example a portfolio, GitHub profile, or a short note on the kinds of projects you’ve worked on and what you’d like to learn next.
